The S60 Platform (formerly Series 60 User Interface) is a software platform for mobile phones that runs on Symbian OS. S60 is currently amongst the leading smartphone platforms in the world. It is owned by Nokia (who purchased outstanding shareholders in Symbian in June 2008 and is currently in the process of open-sourcing both the S60 user-interface which Nokia developed and licensed and the newly acquired underlying Symbian OS).
